Week 9

Very daunted by the number and range of search engines. Liked the meta search engines and will probably start using Dogpile as I like the cute pictures of dogs! Had a look at bing and at first liked it as it looked very straightforward but ended up feeling a bit confused about what I was actually looking at. Probably not helped by getting diverted by a story under 'News' about how hanging baskets can help dispel anti social behaviour...

Week 8

Got very side-tracked this week looking at videos of cute sleepy kittens and listening to songs on the Grooveshark playlist!

BTW, the Common Craft YouTube clip on podcasting has been removed by the user...

Week 7

Gradually catching up...Have now completed week 7! Particularly like the web clipping tool in Evernote (once I finally got it installed at 6.15pm yesterday evening :-)) I have just started using Evernote and having this extra facility is very useful.

Week 6: sweet surveys

Week 6: Doodle has potential

I can definitely see the possibilities of using Doodle to organise my annual Christmas meal with my friends - usually a bit of an administrative nightmare! I could add in some nice festive images too.

Week 5

Really appreciate having a catch up week. Can we have more Morecombe and Wise please...?

Week 4

Found it useful looking at the Facebook pages of other universities. Not sure I have completely grasped the difference between Facebook Pages and Facebook Groups but it is the end of the day...

Week 3 (still catching up)

Enjoyed PhotoFunia but would have liked to use Zwinky too (guess I couldn't get it to work becuase you have to download it?)

Wish I was here...

Still catching up...week 2

Have fallen rather shamefully behind what with conference days, away days and heaps of meetings - and I haven't even been on holiday yet :-)

Have now successfully added some gadgets. Doesn't seem to like phrases, got some rather bizarre results with 'Business Library'. However, am now feeling very cultured in having added 'oil painting of the day'!

Problem sorted!

So the answer to my commenting issues is... I neded to use Firefox rather than IE. All working tickety boo now. I think the problem was that in IE, even though I had signed in, it didn't recognise my Google Account. When I used Firefox it automaically listed it as one of the account options.

Still no comment

Ok, I fear there may be some operator error here. I clearly need help. When I want to post a comment I do the following:

Click where it says '(number of) comments'
Click Post a comment
Type in a comment
There is a drop down box asking for my account so I select Google Account
Click on post comment

That's when it all goes horribly wrong. I either get the screen sticking on this page or it goes through to the Blogger window asking me if I want to create a blog. I have claered my cookies so where am I going wrong...?

Ok, have just tried to add a mildly humourous comment to one of Paper Cuts' posts and it isn't showing. I typed my comment in the box, selected 'Google Account' and clicked on 'post comment' but it isn't showing up. Where did I go wrong?

Becoming a designer

I've gone into 'Design' and added a couple of gadgets (a search box and a total page view) -  hoping lots of people have a peek at Blogbuster to top up the numbers... I'm off to comment on some other blogs now!

No stopping me now

Have now started adding tags and enabled transliteration into Russian. Feel like I'm steaming ahead. Hope I don't get too hooked. I'll start blogging about what I'm having for lunch next (cheese and chutney today...)

Not quite as easy as I thought...

Hmm, took a bit longer than I thought to set up a blog - once I had found a suitable, copyright free photo to use (why didn't I just use that one from 2006 that I use for everything else...?) and had to request a verification code (were my typing skills dodgy in some way)? However, instructions were all very clear, thanks. Looking forward to commencing 23 Things City!
